Beautifully carved from chrysoprase, this is a gorgeous display art bottle that came in a mineral collection I got long ago. Chrysoprase is the gemstone which is actually a nickel rich variety of crypto- crystalline quartz. The artist carved this piece into a lovely floral pattern, and for an added bonus a custom carved wood base. Although the chrysoprase is from Australia the carving was surely done in China or a nearby Asian country and designed as a snuff bottle (the Lid comes off and securely latches back on..
