A very colorful Malachite and Chrysocolla specimen from the Star of the Congo Mine which has produced many great combination specimens of these two minerals over the years. Blue-green Chrysocolla has coated a substrate of rich green, botryoidal Malachite producing a variegated and captivating ensemble of dark green and blue-green. There is also a later generation of primary Malachite that has been deposited on the Chrysocolla coating and it consists of less than 1 mm crystals in glistening patchy clusters mostly at the intersections of the botryoids. The colorful and textural combination of the two secondary copper minerals has resulted in a fine looking, multicolored and multitextured, artistic piece that sits perfectly for display. Left side has been sawn and prepared to improve displayability.
