Chrysocolla w/ Malachite (old - rare from era)

Mineral specimens from this old abandoned Katanga copper mine are RARE compared to other notable nearby localities and chrysocolla specimens are VERY RARE. This sculptural and colorful banded specimen features turquoise-blue, powder-blue and green layers artistically arranged on all sides of the underlying matrix. The top of the piece is accented with a nifty little vug of bright emerald-green primary malachite. From an East Coast collection and comes with a John Albanese label dating from from 1953-68.
