Item Description

Here we have an incredibly hard to find specimen of Chrysocolla from the Lucky Mine in Otero County, New Mexico. We've never had a single specimen of this material to offer in the auctions, and even compared to few we could find in various databases for comparison, this one is quite lovely. Groups of bubbly Chrysocolla, ranging in color from stark green to blue tones can be seen covering the underlying Goethite matrix. The label mentions that there is Azurite and Malachite on the piece, and while neither mineral is listed on the entry for the locality on mindat.org, I DID see both of them on the specimen when I looked closely with a loupe. The rich colors, beautiful presentation and rare locality make it a very desirable specimen for any fan of secondary copper minerals or specimens from New Mexico. A true collector piece and virtually unseen in today's market.
From the collection of Dave Stoudt.
