Chrysocolla pseudomorphs after Malachite after Azurite (ex Rose and Phillips Collections)

Here we have a wonderful multi-generational pseudomorph specimen from DR Congo featuring thin bladed crystals of what were originally Azurite, but pseudomorph into dark Malachite, and then were later pseudomorph by soft blue colored Chrysocolla. You can see on the some of the contacted crystals that there is a bit of green Malachite remaining in the center, so the older mineralization of Malachite and the younger deposition of Chrysocolla are both still present. The "icing" on the piece is that the pseudomorphs have a gentle coating of sugary micro Quartz crystals, creating a dazzling sparkling effect. These pseudomorphs are not unlike specimens from the Ray Mine in Arizona where a similar series of depositions took place ( https://www.mindat.org/photo-436398.html ). The largest pseudomorph measures 1.5 cm. Very good quality and incredibly rare for this area, so if you collect copper minerals, secondary ore minerals, or simply interesting specimens from DR Congo, don't pass this one up.
