Item Description
This is a wonderful blue-green Chrysocolla specimen replacing what was once either Azurite or Gypsum (depending upon whom you ask) from the famous Ray Mine in Arizona. The display side of this specimen is eye-catching showing excellent form and arrangement. For a long time these specimens were labeled as Chrysocolla after Azurite, but nobody has been able to prove this, so some have speculated that they could be replacing Gypsum, which is also monoclinic in habit like Azurite, and much more easily dissolved. You don't see a lot of these pieces on the market, and they are certainly worth picking up if you collect pseudomorphs, secondary ore specimens or minerals from Arizona. This one has a small bit of roughness on the smaller secondary crystals, so it's not 100% perfect, but it's really attractive in person and the form and positions of the pseudomorphs is VERY good. Priced at $1,450 retail.
