Item Description

Mineral specimens of any species are VERY RARE from this obscure open pit near the famous and extinct underground Magma Mine. Doubly rare, as this impressive piece contains pseudomorphs on a large colorful, lightweight chunk of beautiful turquoise-blue chrysocolla. The sculptural vug is lined with bubby, botryoidal sky-blue chrysocolla and hosts four well-placed pseudomorphs of chrysocolla after differently shaped azurite crystals. The striking partial fan-like spray of parallel-growth azurite blades on the right side is 4.8 cm long. The impressive long pseudo at the top is 4.5 cm long and the two smaller pseudos are on the left. Smaller pseudos are scattered in the vug. Ex Ted Bartels Collection and purchased from miners at the 1995 Tucson Show. A rare, possibly unique Arizona pseudomorph from a very uncommon locale! A MUST for the locality or pseudomorph collector.
