Chrysocolla on Quartz (RARE & rare locale)

Vivid, melted-look, lustrous, rich turquoise-blue chrysocolla botryoids cover the front and part of the back of the large, sculptural, euhedral quartz crystal section on this very colorful piece. Mineral specimens are very uncommon from the much less well-known Caraveli Province of Arequipa Department, Peru. This is an EXTREMELY RARE, striking and colorful combination specimen from a most obscure mine, that MINDAT does not list. The quartz crystal appears to be doubly terminated and the bit of bruising on one end reveals the quartz. RARE combination material from a recent small find.
