Item Description
A striking example of the classic, older material is (nearly) unique to Arizona for the sparkling beauty of quartz on chrysocolla. Tiny sugary crystals of quartz cover the rounded chrysocolla, making it glistening in appearance. Chrysocolla is itself layered atop malachite, you can see from the sides at the rear. The overall effect is like a sparkling blue hill....it glows in a showcase, particularly under LED or sunlight. This thick, rich specimen probably dates to the 1960s-1970s. It is s sparkly and pretty that it was mostly used as carving rough, with few enough saved for mineral collectors. Old material, seldom seen today in this quality. Valued $1000-plus.
