Item Description

A rarely seen specimen of the famous Chrysocolla from the historic copper producing region near Eilat. I'm told that this material is mostly Chrysocolla, but can contain Azurite, Malachite and Turquoise. Eilat Stone derives its name from the city of Eilat where it was once mined. The Eilat stone is the National stone of Israel, and is also known as the King Solomon Stone. This piece came to me from a trusted source who visited Israel to acquire it, so I believe it to be genuine, although I am told that sometimes the locals will sell specimens to tourists that are imported from other countries, including copper regions in the United States such as Arizona.
