Item Description
Alexandrite is the green gem variety of chrysoberyl that exibits a color change in natural and artificial light from green to amethystine (Alexandrite effect). This classic fine thumbnail is from the famous Type Locality in Russia. Part of the crystal is a sharp cyclic-twin and part is moderately contacted. Depending on the light source, the crystal shows the classic green turning to purple and pink. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. 10.48 carats.
