Item Description
Alexandrite is the green variety (can be gemmy) of chrysoberyl that exibits a color change in natural and artificial light from green to amethystine (Alexandrite effect). This sharp, moderately lustrous, grayish-green mostly opaque crystal is a partial classic textbook sixling. 58.85 carats mass. Older material from the Lidstrom Collection, before 1979, when Rhodesia became Zimbabwe.
