Chrysoberyl

An attractive toenail sized piece from Malyshevo, Russia featuring several sharp, lustrous, gemmy, lovely green colored crystals of Chrysoberyl measuring up to 1.0 cm sitting on grey schist matrix. I looked at the piece under several different temperatures of light, and they don't show a color change, so this is not Alexandrite. It's one of the best pieces of this material that we've had to offer as the crystals are distinct and well-formed, and a couple of them are fairly gemmy. If you collect gem mineral species, this is a cool specimen that would make a nice addition to your collection. Matrix Chrysoberyl specimens are not terribly common worldwide.
