Item Description
Some of the most classic Chyrsoberyl specimens in the world are those from Espirito Santo in the southeastern end of Brazil. This thumbnail with fine, yellow-green color, excellent luster, and good gemminess, has some deeply stiated faces and despite a few rough spots, is still very well-crystallized. It's doubly-terminated, but it's not complete all the way around as you can see from the photos. This 8.27 gram crystal is a rare, and highly sought-after specimen. It is a "classic," with good form and excellent gemminess. It's actually clean enough in areas to produce a few fine quality gemstones. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
