Item Description

Despite the name, Chrysoberyl is not related to Beryl (other than the fact that they both contain beryllium), as it's actually an oxide species and even has a slightly higher hardness than Beryl. Gem grade Chrysoberyl is not terribly common in nature, and some of the most well-known gems are those from Brazil. This stone has a deep brownish-green hue, with some slight visible inclusions and a "Pear" cut. It's a good sized stone for the material, as you don't often see many Chrysoberyls over 4 carats.
