Item Description
Very popular as an ornamental stone, this is a striking and artistic large example of "Chrysanthemum Stone" from China. The radiating "petals" of Celestine resemble the beautiful flowering plant. The "flower" is dramatically embedded in a sculptural, polished nodule of Permian-aged, 275 MYA, metamorphic organic-rich limestone (it fizzes with hydrochloric acid). The base has been sawed to enhance the excellent display quality of this impressive piece. Mass is 1746 grams or 3.8 pounds. A very fine large example with the "flower" having delightful 360-degree form.
