Two generations of kammererite crystals along with scattered RARE doubly terminated contrasting translucent hexagonal Brucite prisms, to 6 mm, cover the sculptural chrome-rich ore matrx on this rich and excellent specimen from the top locality for the species, the Kop Krom Mine in Turkey. Kammererite is the rare, chrome-rich variety of clinochlore. There is nothing that quite matches the vivid purple-red hue of kammererite as found in a series of remarkable pockets over 20 years ago. This showy and excellent miniature plate is highlighted by well-placed crystals to 6 mm on a bed of sparkly kammererite microcrystals! The lustrous, translucent, crystals have textbook, tapering, pseudohexagonal form and GLOW when backlit. The bit of bruising is certainly only a modest detraction to this rich, highly representative and rare combination. Valued at $600-800. Seldom on the market today.
