Item Description
For all the colors of Tourmaline in the world, the intense green hue in this crystal is about as strong as a Chrome Tourmaline can be. Chrome Tourmalines are certainly not common on a worldwide scale, and it truly doesn't matter what species this is, the color is superb. The crystal, which is actually doubly-terminated!, is rather sharp, with superb luster and beautiful trigonal form. When backlit, the color is very intense, and while it is not gemmy enough to yield any large gemstones, it is still amazingly rich in color. The only notable spot of damage is on the bottom of the piece, but otherwise in excellent condition, as it is amazingly well-formed with beautiful modifying faces on each the terminations. A very rarely seen thumbnail sized crystal of this hard to find material. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get the color exactly right, and it actually has a slight bluish tinge that deos not show up in the photos. BETTER in person! A more than worthwhile, fine quality crystal of this rare Tourmaline variety. Valued at $800.
