Item Description

A rare, old and fine, two-sided cluster of intergrown "books" of pearlescent, silver-green, chrome muscovite plates from Catawba County, North Carolina. Nearly all of the sides of the sharp, hexagonal "books" have gorgeous flashes of emerald-green gemminess, which is quite different than the chrome muscovites from Shelby, Cleveland County, where only some of the books have gemminess. This is old-time, rare material from the Philadelphia Academy of Sciences Collection.
