Item Description

A rarely seen matrix specimen of Chondrodite from the gem tracts around Mogok. Originally, this piece came to us labeled as norbergite (from Oakssaung Hill), but further analysis has shown that these pieces are Chondrodite (possibly Clinohumite). With that said, they are some of the best matrix specimens of gemmy Chondrodite that I have seen from any locality in Burma. This piece features a translucent honey-orange crystal of Chondrodite associated with a small red Spinel on the back of the specimen. The matrix is massive white Calcite matrix. Hard to find on the market, and a worthwhile pickup for anybody who collects Burmese material.
