Item Description
Chondrodite is an uncommon Mg-Fe silicate found in contact metamorphic rocks and carbonatites. Specimens of any species are rare from this abandoned Cu-Pb-Ag-Zn mine. This interesting combination miniature is highlighted by two glorious, gem, cherry-red to fire-orange, sharp, chondrodite crystals to 3 mm. What looks to be rare, tiny, gem, yellow-green, apatite? crystals are near these chondrodites. Other sides have broken honey-brown chondrodites, lustrous, metallic sphalerite and other minerals. A fine combination rarity from this well-known locale.
