Item Description

A 1.0 cm, sharp, gemmy, burnt-orange chondrodite crystal with frosted faces is aesthetically set on rich magnetite ore with numerous rounded magnetite crystals on the complimentary mint-green antigorite crust. The broken chondrodite crystal reveals the gemminess of the crystals. Discovered in 1810 and closed in 1897, after 13 miners died in a rockslide, this is one of the great and classic East Coast localities. This is an excellent and showy old-time combination from this historic locale from an East Coast collection. Comes with a Hugh Ford label dating from 1946-57. As a bonus, the magnet likes this rich magnetic ore! valued $250
