Item Description

Chondrodite specimens are rare from this well-known marble/limestone quarry. A 1.9 cm, sharp, doubly terminated, orange-brown prism is aesthetically perched atop the marble matrix. A 4 mm graphite plate is noted on the edge of the marble. One end of the crystal is bruised, but has minimal impact to the high quality of this important New Jersey rarity. Yellow SW UV fluorescence. Ex Earl Calvert Collection, a well-known California collector, who passed away in 1964.
