Item Description
Chloroxiphite is a very rare Pb-Cu hydroxyhalide with many of the finer specimens come from this large limestone quarry. A couple of green lathes, to about 5 mm, are encased in the pod of calcite, that includes rare mendipite, Pb-oxyhalide, and cerussite. Both pods are rimmed by platy black crednerite in the massive Mn-oxide matrix. Combination specimens of this association are rare and are rarely available. The calcite fluoresces pink. Ex British Museum and Matioli Collections.
