Item Description
Some of the most well-known and fine quality examples of the rare silver halide species, Chlorargyrite are those from the famed Broken Hill area in Australia. This piece is a gorgeous little thumbnail featuring a nearly "floater" group of beautiful, well-formed isometric crystals showing octahedral, cubic and dodecahedral faces on all sides. In addition to the smooth, wellf-formed faces, there are some beautiful "hoppered" / skeletal areas under the large crystal for a really nice touch. The color is a dark silvery metallic hue. No major damage and very attractive when viewed up close. You don't see many of these on the market, and they are typically smaller (only a few mm), so although this isn't a full-sized thumbnail, it's a good sized piece of this rare and classic material. Ex Brian Kosnar specimen.
