Item Description
Chinese Writing Rock (Chinese Writing Stone) is the name given to a specific kind of black porphyritic basalt (porphyry rock), which hosts phenocrysts of white Plagioclase Feldspar. When polished, some say the Feldspar resembles Chinese characters / logograms. Here we have a good sized "Pear Cabochon" cut stone featuring attractive white Plagioclase crystals frozen inside the basalt host rock.
