Chevkinite-(Ce) (rare REE silicate) ex Obodda

This rare very complex REE silicate is found in unusual aegirine-quartz-feldspar pegmatites. Very large crystals for the species are aesthetically clustered on this impressive large specimen from a small find circa 2001. The sharp tabular jet-black crystals have lustrous prism faces and terminations. The prisms reach 4.8 cm on this sculptural piece. These are undoubtably the finest large crystals in the world for the rare species. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Valued by Herb at $1100 more than 6 years ago. Today's value should really easily be $1750-2500. These are simply NOT on the market anymore at all!
