Item Description
The closed Mounana Uranium Mine in Gabon is the Type Locality for numerous rare species. This rich and showy miniature hosts 4 Type Locality rarities! The pearlescent, gray prisms are chervetite, a very rare lead vanadate. The bright yellow microcrystal patchs are curienite, the darker yellow crystals are francevilleite and the rust-brown microcrystals and crusts are mounanaite (obviously, this being the Type Locale). These three are all very rare uranium oxides. Ex John White Collection of Seattle.
