Item Description

A rare old specimen from the aptly named Sierra Diablo Mountains of West Texas. Massive bone-colored cryptocrystalline chert is covered with a secondary layer of dirt-covered nubby chert. Certainly not much to look at, but is a rare piece of Texana from a locale that has produced very few specimens. Old-time material collected by the Philadelphia Academy of Sciences in 1941 on their Trans-Pecos Texas Expedition.
