Item Description
Chenevixite, a rare hydroxyl Cu-Fe arsenate, is rare from this famous huge open pit copper mine, the world's largest. This is a fine, old-time thumbnail of mint-green, earthy chenevixite nicely scattered on the rare quartz matrix. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 6912 and acquired in February, 1973. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). A highly representative example of the rare species and locale.
