Item Description

A glorious and colorful specimen of incredibly chatoyant, intergrown, fans of primary malachite crystals from an uncommon and extinct open pit mine in Katanga. The Luishia Mine operated from 1913 to 1949. The amazing sprays rest on a lightweight, sculptural gossan matrix. The chatoyancy of these malachite fans is about the best we have seen from any worldwide locale. Ex Harold Urish Collection, a 40-year respected Tucson collector. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
