Item Description
A superb and aesthetic, mushroom-shaped, two-sided, primary malachite crust from the historic Copper Queen Mine. The "A" side is covered with silky, chatoyant, radiating tufts of acicular malachite crystals. The malachite on the "B" side is the more standard botryoidal variety with variable color shading. This classic, old-timer probably dates to around 1900 or earlier, but no proof. Comes with a Mitch Gunnell label, a very prominent American collector and part-time dealer. The label dates from the late 1940s to mid 1970s. Seldom will you see a Copper Queen malachite of this quality. Valued at $1000-1200. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
