A RARE, very complex silicate, Charoite, is well-known as exceptional lapidiary material due to its beautiful violet to deep lilac color. This stunning, colorful, art-cut and polished 3-sided beauty is from the Type Locality in Eastern Russia. The striking, swirling, pretty rich lavender to violet charoite is highlighted by the starkly contrasting lustrous black aegirine and scattered straw-yellow sections of the rare Th-silicate Steacyite. Every turn and face presents a dramatically different view of this exotic rarity. An exceptional, artistic and uncommon combination from the locale. 130 grams mass. High quality charoite valued at $500-700.
