Item Description
Chalcosiderite is a rare hydrated Cu-Fe-Al phosphate with the Type Locality being the Phoenix Mine in Cornwall. Thousands of intensely sparkling and glistening rich green crystals line vugs on both sides of the 3-dimensional, sintered-looking, limonitic matrix. Undoubtably old-time material from the 1800s. MINDAT does not list this species for the East Pool Mine, so the piece is from another historic Cornwall mine. Probably the Phoenix Mine, itself.
