Item Description

Dalnegorsk has produced some of the finest and most recognizable sulfide specimens of any world locality in the last 30+ years. This piece is an iconic example of this famous material featuring a prismatic, bright, metallic, brassy-gold color crystal of Chalcopyrite measuring 3.2 cm, sitting atop a group of sharp, lustrous, well-formed Sphalerite crystals, with a few additional Chalcopyrites here and there. There are a few nicks/rubs on the piece, so it's not undamaged, but it's quite showy, and to have a big free-standing Chalcopyrite crystal from Dalnegorsk is rare, as they are often seen lying flat against the matrix.
