Chalcopyrite with Quartz and Calcite (ex Rich Kosnar Collection)

From noted Colorado collector, Richard A. Kosnar, this piece is a lovely Chalcopyrite specimen from the lesser known Osceola mine in the San Juan Mountains. The group of crystals has bright metallic luster, with beautiful golden color and well-defined, sharp faces. Additionally, the Chalcopyrite is sitting on slightly greenish Quartz crystals which are associated with white Calcite here and there. If you're a Colorado collector, or even more specifically a San Juans collector, be sure to pick up this hard to find specimen that was mined in the 1970s.
