Chalcopyrite with Quartz

A gorgeous display quality specimen from the Animón Mine in Peru featuring an very good quality, sharp, lustrous, metallic brassy complete crystal of Chalcopyrite measuring 2.7 cm long associated with thin prismatic GEM quality Quartz crystals at the base. The Chalcopyrite is complete all around, with no major damage, the only imperfection is an indentation on the back where a Quartz crystal once grew, but has since fallen away. A tiny amount of cubic Pyrite can be seen on the reverse side of the specimen. A great old-time specimen dating back several decades. A wonderful miniature sized Chalcopyrite that truly looks better in person. Valued $950.
