Chalcopyrite with Pyrite

Item Description

A showy and robust cabinet specimen from Panasqueira that features notably good sized crystals of Chalcopyrite measuring up to 5.8 cm with a dark brassy appearance on the surface, which play host to several modified cubes of lustrous metallic golden Pyrite measuring up to 1.3 cm on edge. If you look closely at the Chalcopyrites, they have a gentle sparkling appearance on the surface, due to tiny Pyrites that have been deposited all over. There are two spots of damage on the edges, so the piece is not perfect, but it's an impressive example of a mineral that is not often seen in such impressive full sized cabinet display specimen from this famous locality.
