Item Description

Beautifully iridescent, golden-brassy, sharp and lustrous, chalcopyrite sphenoids to 8 mm are aesthetically scattered amongst lustrous, jet-black sphalerite crystals in a sculptural vug lined with a forest of quartz needles. The matrix of this CABINET specimen microcrystalline sphalerite, chalcopyrite, pyrite and quartz. This fine large combination piece is from the very uncommon Empire Zinc Mine of New Mexico. Undoubtably old material, but no proof. Ex Mullane Collection.
