Item Description

This historic copper mine was first worked in 1609. Good specimens from here are not often found on today's mineral market and most of them date from mining for ore and specimens in the late 1800s, now. Lustrous, brassy to bronzy to golden iridescent chalcopyrite crystals are richly and aesthetically clustered on the large matrix with numerous contrasting quartz points. Excellent old-time combination material, that displays well from both sides. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and purchased in 1962, according to his label. Valued $500-750
