Item Description

This well-known Peru mine is noted for outstanding sulfide and quartz combination specimens and this is a very fine, aesthetic and sculptural large example. A nifty cluster of sharp, partially coated chalcopyrite sphenoids is very aesthetically set atop mounded matrix dramatically covered with sprays of tapered, water-clear quartz points and scattered splendent, brass-yellow pyrite cubes. The underlying matrix is sphalerite. Nearly pristine, for all the crystal density. A small bruise is noted to the upper left chalcopyrite crystal and you have to look hard to see the very few broken quartz points. A most excellent large combination example of this classic material.
