Item Description

A fine small cabinet display specimen of these classic Chalcopyrites from Cavnic. The piece is loaded with eye-catching, brassy, metallic blocky crystals of Chalcopyrite intergrown measuring up to 9 mm across, associated with little pyritohedral crystals of Pyrite elegantly sitting atop gemmy, thin, prismatic Quartz crystals on matrix. The overall quality and presentation of the piece is superb, with very little damage. This area is well-known for producing some superb examples of various sulfides and the Chalcopyrites are some of the most well-known examples from this famous Bronze Age mining district.
