This is an impactful specimen with a gorgeous 'ball' of compact chalcopyrite crystals perched beautifully atop large quartz points, making for texture and color contrasts. This is a classic style for Boldut (probably from the heyday here, many years ago), but one of the best examples of the style we have seen. It is in impeccable pristine condition. The chalcopyrite cluster itself is just under 4 inches (9 cm) across. Donated by Stuart Wilensky to the Museum's benefit, and valued $10,000-12,500. Formerly in a prominent European collection.
