Item Description
A lovely small cabinet display specimen of these classic, and fine quality Chalcopyrites from Cavnic. The piece is filled with eye-catching, bright, brassy, metallic crystal groups of Chalcopyrite measuring up to 2.2 cm across sitting atop gemmy, prismatic Quartz crystals, and lightly "dusted" with creamed colored Dolomite in a few spots. The overall quality and presentation of the piece is superb, with very little damage. This area is well-known for producing some superb examples of various sulfides and the Chalcopyrites are some of the most well-known examples from this famous Bronze Age mining district. From the collection of Colin Manlove.
