Chalcopyrite on Dolomite with Calcite (Mullane Coll.)

A CLASSIC, OLD-TIME, two-sided combination specimen from the famous Tri-State District of Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. Iridescent, brass-yellow, triangular chalcopyrite crystals are RICHLY sprinkled on the 3-dimensional carpet of elongated, moderate-luster, pastel-pink dolomite blades on the matrix of gray chert. The chert on the backside of this very showy and excellent CABINET specimen is blanketed with tiny, pastel-yellow, complex, calcite rhombs. A nice bonus on this choice old-timer from the Mullane Collection. The front is in nearly pristine condition and the chalcopyrites reach 7 mm.
