Item Description
A seldom seen specimen of Chalcopyrite from the San Pedro Mine in New Mexico. This mine is probably best known as a copper producer, including some impressive and distinctive Chalcopyrite specimens. Nearly all of the Chalcopyrites that I've seen from this locality are oxidized with a blue-green patina, especially those sitting on Calcite. This piece features a predominant, sharp, 1.3 cm twinned group of Chalcopyrite on whitish "dog tooth" Calcite matrix. Good aesthetics and quality for the locality. Very hard to find on the market now. From the collection of Harold Urish.
