Item Description

Sharp, intergrown, tarnished gray, chalcopyrite sphenoids to about 1.7 cm are richly and aesthetically clustered on the 3-dimensional massive calcite matrix dramatically accented by a lustrous, ivory-colored, 3.5 x 3.0 cm, calcite rhomb. A few broken chalcos reveal the bright golden iridescence of the sphenoids. Uncommon and excellent older material from this famous Utah district. Modest pink calcite fluorescence. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection, acquired in 1985 as a gift from Mr. Lewis of Nature's Emporium in Avery, California.
