Item Description

This former gold mine has produced outstanding Colorado chalcopyrites. This super locality piece was once in the superb Colorado collection of Mitch Gunnell and then the Dick Hauck Collection. It's very hard to tell, if this is a single large very complex sphenoid or three intergrown sphenoids. Irregardless, this outstanding miniature has very sharp striated faces and a beautiful antique brassy patina with light iridescence. Complete all-around and in great shape. A trivial bit of edge wear, light partial contacting on one face and the lightly contacted base are noted. A superb and classic Alice Mine chalcopyrite. A must for the Colorado or species collector.
