Chalcopyrite & Dolomite on Quartz (2 generations)

Item Description

The Ed Bancroft Collection featured several excellent Cavnic specimens and this is an aesthetic combination piece from this ancient mining district. Front and center is a nifty cluster of splendent, iridescent, golden-bronzy, chalcopyrite sphenoids attached to the front of a pristine, sharply terminated, glassy, transparent to translucent quartz crystal. On the left is a striking stalk of second generation, gem, quartz points, with more on the lower right. The base of the piece is nicely accented with a sparkly knob of ivory-colored dolomite rhombs. This excellent piece has very fine and uncommon composition.
