Exquisite artistic miniature of this unique Chalcopyrite coated Chalcocite with Djurleite occurrence from the Tongshankou Mine in China, from finds a few years back. Arborescent, dendroidal, and mounded and elongated, richly iridescent in blues and greens, this very aesthetic, delicate, yet stout and sculptural miniature is in excellent condition all around! Research indicates that these consist of a core of Chalcopyrite coated by Djurleite and then overlain with a late-stage layer of Chalcocite. Exceptionally attractive! One of the best miniatures of this find! It is complete all around except for a very few tiny breaks, whereas most have significant damage. Purchased when they came out approx. 5 years ago.
